A female tufted duck. It looks quite manic with its golden eye. And it certainly was not going to let other birds get to the food before it could get there...
A little later the same day - taken through the car window when waiting to collect the girls from the school bus. I like the depth of field (DOF)... As Sue Avery says on Flickr, it almost looks three dimensional.
There were loads of birds fighting for bread. This one just grabbed it and is on the way back up. See the beak of the rather slower mallard on the right.
These next few photographs were all taken on 4 March 2011. I cannot really claim that this is anything other than darn good luck. But I really like the photograph!
From Holborn Viaduct looking down towards Blackfriars. Plumtree Court, former principal office in London for Coopers & Lybrand, is on the right hand side. As awlays cranes (or a crane) in the skyline. I enjoyed experimenting with HDR in CS5 on this one.
I am horribly behind posting photographs to the blog... Over 100 to catch up with. None posted in March. Whoops! Anyway, back to a some photographs I took in London on 1 March. This is from Holborn Viaduct, as is the next one. I quite like the colour on B&W background...
