0096/1000

Watch the bus coming in on the turn to its stop. Trafalgar Square in the background and the National Gallery.

St Martins in the Field, Trafalgar Square. 7 March 2011.

0094/1000

And this one too...

0093/1000

0093/1000 (a)

Just look at spring in Trafalgar Square, with the National Gallery behind the fountain.

0092/1000 (a)

Some interesting thoughts on cropping on the Flickr discussions. But anyway, I like my first two robins.

0091/1000

The last of my swan photographs for a little while...

0090/1000

Back to my Egyptian Goose...

0089/1000

0089/1000

Up close and personal with a swan...

0088/1000

0088/1000

There are some other birds as well - such as this Canada Goose!

0087/1000

0087/1000

Bickering over the bread.

0086/1000

0086/1000

What can I say?

0085/1000

0085/1000

They definitely keep an eye on you...

0084/1000

0084/1000

Sorry - a few more swans yet... They ARE photogenic!

0083/1000

0083/1000

Rectory Road, Bix. I just liked the way the sign was leaning and the sun was reflecting off it,

0082/1000

0082/1000

It really does look like spring with the catkins...

0081/1000

0081/1000

Tern wheeling away. Giving chase to something...

0080/1000

0080/1000

The dribbling is just great...

0079/1000

0079/1000

A female tufted duck. It looks quite manic with its golden eye. And it certainly was not going to let other birds get to the food before it could get there...

0078/1000

0078/1000

Tern on manoeuevres... Looks like a stealth approach.

0077/1000

0077/1000

More flying in formation...

0076/1000

0076/1000

An egyptian goose contemplating life on the banks of the Thames near Marlow.

0075/1000

0075/1000

More dead weeds...

0074/1000

0074/1000

Super highway for the squirrel, Beautiful blue sky.

0073/1000

0073/1000

Old and new - hydrangea leaf buds competing with old deadheads. Spring is definitely on the way at this stage.

0072/1000

0072/1000

A little later the same day - taken through the car window when waiting to collect the girls from the school bus. I like the depth of field (DOF)... As Sue Avery says on Flickr, it almost looks three dimensional.

0071/1000

0071/1000

Flying in formation...

0070/1000

0070/1000

There were loads of birds fighting for bread. This one just grabbed it and is on the way back up. See the beak of the rather slower mallard on the right.

0069/1000

0069/1000

Undercarriage down... I only just got this one.

0068/1000

0068/1000

Just got the tip of the beak in the frame...

0067/1000

0067/1000

These next few photographs were all taken on 4 March 2011. I cannot really claim that this is anything other than darn good luck. But I really like the photograph!

Blue Tits

Blue Tit

Blue Tit - not really up to scratch yet - but I have put it here as a benchmark. Taken on 4 March 2011. This one as well:

Blue Tit

They are not really in my 1000 photographs but I like them and they will remind me of a fine day in March, and my very first small birds...

0066/1000

0066/1000

And this one on its lonesome...

0065/1000

0065/1000

Preening...

0064/1000

0064/1000

So you probably get the drift by now...

0063/1000

0063/1000

Really I am just playing with the depth of field. But I quite like the end result.

0062/1000

0062/1000

A similar shot...

0061/1000

0061/1000

These black headed terns were all lined up near the dock for the pleasure boats on the Thames at Marlow.

0060/1000

0060/1000

A female mallard on the Thames by Marlow. Watch the drip!

0059/1000

0059/1000

And now for something completely different - a series of bird photographs on the Thames at Marlow. This swan was just serene.

0058/1000

0058/1000

From Holborn Viaduct looking down towards Blackfriars. Plumtree Court, former principal office in London for Coopers & Lybrand, is on the right hand side. As awlays cranes (or a crane) in the skyline. I enjoyed experimenting with HDR in CS5 on this one.

0057/1000

0057/1000

I am horribly behind posting photographs to the blog... Over 100 to catch up with. None posted in March. Whoops! Anyway, back to a some photographs I took in London on 1 March. This is from Holborn Viaduct, as is the next one. I quite like the colour on B&W background...
